National Archives Internet Portal Information Privacy Policy

This policy concerns the approach followed by the National Archives in collecting, preserving and disseminating information via the Internet Portal and the mechanisms deployed to protect privacy and secrecy of collected information.

Objective:

This policy aims to achieve the following:

  • Use of available information resources through the Internet Portal in the form of documents, images, videos, audio records or any other form.
  • Protection of property rights for National Archives’ information resources.
  • Protection of privacy of browsers’ data against abuse.

Scope of Implementation:

This policy applies to all information resources owned by the National Archives; and strictly followed by all Internet Portal browsers whether they were individuals or private or governmental entities in all forms of usage.

Responsibilities:

The National Archives is committed to protecting the rights of Internet Portal’ browsers; whether individuals or institutes; and the privacy of sensitive information. Your visit to the Internet Portal of the National Archives may require providing your personal details for identification, i.e. name or address, your refusal to provide such details will impede our ability to serve you. The National Archives will grant access to your personal details only to its employees who require to view such details; hence your details will not be made available to the public without your previous consent. Moreover your personal details will not be shared or traded with any third party or sold without your explicit approval. The National Archives deploys state of the art procedures to secure the browser’s personal details and employs advanced systems to guarantee safe environment to protect such details following legal constraints. Or any other act that may offend a religion, creed or the systems and general policies of the state of the United Arab Emirates.
  • Avoid using the Internet Portal of the National Archives to upload any content that may contain viruses or malware that may cause damage or impediment to the functionalities of the Internet Portal of the National Archives.
  • Avoid causing any changes, damages or eliminations to any content item that is published via the Internet Portal of the National Archives.
  • Avoid using the Internet Portal of the National Archives to publish or transfer any spam mail or advertisements or any other form of promotions.
  • Avoid using the Internet Portal of the National Archives to publish any content that infringes copy rights or any other form of property rights.
  • All credit/debit cards details and personally identifiable information will NOT be stored, sold, shared, rented or leased to any third parties.

Copyrights:

The copyrights of all information resources contained within the Internet Portal is the property of the National Archives. The content of the Internet Portal of the National Archives is considered as a service to the public and for introductory justifications. Hence the browser agrees to avoid changes or eliminations to any logos of ownership contained within downloaded materials. As well the browser is not permitted to copy, extract, publish, upload or transfer any content of the Internet Portal of the National Archives in any form or shape except what he/she has been explicitly permitted to view following all presented restrictions concerning downloading or printing parts of the portal pages for un-commercial use only. The browser will subject for legal liability based on the rules and regulations of the state of the United Arab Emirates in case of failure to follow the previously mentioned conditions and restrictions.

The National Archives will not be held responsible for any damages that the browser may be subject to as a result of privacy violation caused by information transfer to the portal.
